he has 4 phases: 100-75% hp, 75-50% hp and 50-25 and finally 25-0% hp.
He ONLY HAS 4 MOVES. In none of the phases does he gain more or anything. he only needs 2 strikes to kill you if you dont heal. So either reconfigure your keys to make the fast tab (y-key by default) to be easier for you or suck it up.
HIS WEAKPOINTS ARE THE SHINY BLUE THINGS ON HIS BODY: the ones on his arms/shoulders will break after a while but provide extra dmg done to hp. while the ones on its 'crotch' dont break (at least they didnt for me and I focused on them multiple times throughout all my tries). if you complain about janky hitboxes or anything else then know I am praying for your success but wishing for your continued misery until your homosapien brain finally learns pattern recognition.
Move 1 = Laser. He stands still (with an electic looking barrier around him) and shooting a bit to the side of you before sweeping towards you. Run in the opposite Direction and you will be fine. If he is not in the center then it may get trickier since the further you are, the more likely you are to be hit.
move 2 = Dash : If you get close then he will start to run at you, he could do this multiple times in a row. I found that by running at an angle you can typically avoid him, though this requires that you keep the camera a tiny bit on him. that is the optimal angle as just running away in a straight line will smack you against the wall or kill you.
Move 3 = Dash Slam: This looks like a dash but he keeps going until he slams into the wall, stunning him for a few good seconds which you can shoot onto the BLUE BATTERIES ON ITS BODY.
Move 4 = Punish slam: A seemingly arena wide slam on the ground that can typically chunk out 70% of your health. Typically happens when you get a bit too close to the boss. Can easily end your run if your not careful. so hopefully you didnt bring a shotgun and use that as your main weapon because you likely wont win (better rely on your pistol then).
Actual Guide: You can keep repeating these things however much you want in each phase, just dont overextend.
I personally was on the stalker side and used Firebrands RPM for the whole questline. I did have my pistol and shotgun on me but I quickly learned both were useless (at least the shotgun was).
When you restock just before the boss fight, its best to maybe die a few times around the arena just to place your item bags there for emergency ammo or health packs since I once got very close but got hit and only had fecking bandages on me, so i died. If you have a pack of medkits then you can try to quickly use one of those if you ever run out but you really shouldnt if you dodge well.
Upon dropping into the boss fight, he may have his back or sides facing you, punish him why shooting the BLUE THINGS.
He will turn around and if you havent crossed the red arena markings then he will start the Laser Stage. Just run the opposite side of where he initially pointed (you can typically control this by already running in one direction. Just go the opposite). The laser can last about 1-2 seconds, Once its donee, turn and fire. Repeat until he finally charges at you. This can be either move 2 or move 3. if move 2 then running at angle with a bit of Guards body on the screen. Run past him, then for half second more, turn until you can see him again and run at angle. Keep doing this unless you had a glorious move 3 and punish him.
If he only did move 2 then he will likely get bored and return to Move 1-Laser. Rinse and repeat until you get to around 76% hp. Reload for the fun will begin soon.
This applies for any of the following stage changes. Upon reaching 75%, 50% or 25%, the boss 'might' run to center and activate a barrier that begins to heal him. Shoot the lights up high that are linked to the lightning emitted from his body. They are blue as well. previously red or if already destroyed (black) then they might respawn. Shoot all 3 until they break and the barrier collapses. Doesnt matter how much hp he regained, you already entered the next phase 75%->50%-> 25%.
But BE WARNED. 2 Enemies spawn when he starts healing, dont worry about them, they are weak. the longer you take to destroy the lights, the more spawn. If you were lucky enough to reduce quarter of bosses health when he was not in the center then you will get a moment to see all the lights that he will use turn BLUE. You can shoot them early and get a headstart.
After you destroy all 3 lights, boss will be stunned, run to edge so he starts doing MOVE 1 again. Kill mobs while avoiding laser.
Rinse and repeat everything you have already done and you will win. Congrats in advance
Funny enough on my 2nd playthrough I killed him with my shotgun (grizzly) as I wasnt moving fast enough with the RPD to avoid its dash.
I stayed pretty close to him while unloading my shotty and I prefered to dodge his charges rather than the lasers.
The move speed unhindered helped a lot vs the RPD. But on my 1st playthrough 2 years ago I did it with Hystrix RPD.
It takes some patience, the bosses in this game dont let you make mistakes lol.
