There probably are still peeps doing that but it's a LOT better then it used to be. Sub-factions are now friendly down south cov/merc or rise/frontier (freedom n duty got renamed). Game looks a bit prettier and north's completely diff.

Movement is more down to the ground and pvp feels a good bit nicer too.

100% yes, feels like theres actually progress now and something to work towards other than just mindlessly grinding for the next best thing in slot like the game used to be. and boy does the game look so much better with the new lighting and player animations its actually like a different game now, i recommend giving it a try at the very least

as Night also stated, the north is much different and way more manageable now

im a new player and i enjoy the game - idk how it was before but i live and i go to the other zone without much trouble

They pretty much reworked the entire endgame. Each faction has a zone they can farm that is somewhat removed from the other faction's areas, so you can mostly farm in peace now unless someone runs across 2 or 3 zones to come find you.

It'd be interesting to run into an opposing faction's area as they are COVERED with tough npcs.
