Mines seem to have a lot more trees in the way, so if you'd like some reprieve from all that greenery, Inflow is better in that regard.
If there's disadvantages, it's probably which flavor of bandits you'd like to hang around more.Mercs or Covies.
Now i'm a proud Frontier member, so i cannot tell you much about Mercs, other than they LOVE to border camp the forge exit.Covies are either rats, or the biggest ass-kicker you'll ever see, so that's kinda funny.
All boils down to location and armour, really.Plus, you can always change the faction for some rubles.Just bear in mind that once you start a main questline in a faction, YOU CANNOT continue it on the other side.

and you can only finish the main quest line with faction you first pick
