Pathetic Auction House

Can someone explain to me how the auction system works?

A couple days ago I was going to bid within the last few minutes on a soviet backpack, but it vanished from auction with just under 2 minutes left. At the time I assumed maybe someone bought it out.

But just now I went and looked again.
I viewed ALL auctions, and sorted by time left, and kept pressing search (to refresh) over about 10 minutes or so. NOT A SINGLE AUCTION STAYED UP WITH UNDER A MINUTE LEFT. And almost all them vanished from the auction house, regardless of what they were, who posted them, or if they even had a buyout option, with between 1 minute 10 seconds, and 1 minute 50 seconds remaining on their clock.

Hell, I bid 100 rubles on a random grenade that had "1 minute and 50 seconds" left according to the game. When it would have been "1 minute and 44 seconds left", the auction was gone from the auction house. And I had an email stating "you bought lot RGB-5 at auction"

What the actual **** is this garbage russian coding? So the auction timers literally mean NOTHING?
Why the hell even have an auction system in your game if you can't even make something as BASIC AS A TIMER, work correctly?


in other words, I need to stop playing Russian games. These guys couldn't code their way out of a paper box. Just like Gaijin. Just like Wargaming. Just like Game Labs.

Bad code at least, rigged or infested with bots at the worst. I was trying to snipe a blue artifact the other day. Waited until there was 1 second left and bid 5k more than the current. Watched it literally sit at "00 seconds" for 20 seconds and the auction just vanished and I did not receive the item. There was no buyout price.

OP I have same issue all the time when buying stuff... I think its bots, because ill get outbid at the last minute, even when im bidding double on an item sometimes... The Bots come in and take it.

I mean I tested it myself. I bid on an item, and the game finished the auction and sent me the item with a minute and 44 seconds left.

So its definitely not bots. Could be rigged, but most likely Exbo is just completely incompetent and can't make the timer align with when the auction actually ends.

Read my comment after his, It is bots, and if you talk to some of the others you will understand why to. Bots pickup and place buy orders higher than the max placed, and they can enable it in variations so that they always outbid you at the last millisecond.

There was no bot dude. Their system ended the auction with 1 minute 44 seconds left when it should not have.
If it was a bot bidding at the last second, or buying at the last second, the auction system would not have mailed me the grenade and told me I won.

Seriously, go look for yourself. Go to the auction house, view ALL items, sort by time remaining, and keep pressing search to refresh. Tell me if ANY auction, including the joke-auctions with grenades or basic ammo make it under a minute remaining. It won't, not a single one. This being on NA server.

Stop being dense and just read what I've been writing four times now.

The timer isn't accurate. That's not that big of a shock.

As for people talking about bots vs your example - why would bots buy a grenade on auction? People complaining about bots are talking about bots sniping items that have actual value, like artifacts that are underpriced.

Most of the comments on this thread are arguing past each other and saying nothing of value.

Obviously, but I didn't want to mention it because this guy's tin foil would probably say "oh well its probably so they can do something" and further claim that my example is just bots.

Yeah and its a huge issue. Look at ebay, look at literally any game with an auction system, seconds matter. Even on bots sniping, how can a bot snipe if the auctions just randomly end with a huge ~30 second window.
