Orderlies, Shaman, Sub Factions. Even the Blizzard event lore. It all adds to the experience and you will probably stick around longer if your invested in seeing the stories play out.
Do short grinding trips. Don't fear the enemy. it just makes you scared to go places. Sometimes areas are hot, others empty. Its ok to die. Accept it.
Learn the safe areas. PVP likely areas and basicly places that are death sentences. Getting around PVP isn't as hard as many players make it out to be. Pay attention and be willing to adapt.
Be willing to drop what you are doing when you die and take on another goal for a bit if PVP or frustrations over come you.
Expecting to be the hero who always wins will hurt your feelings. The feeling of Noob doesn't really go away. Noob to game, Noob to Cordon. Noob in Dumps. Noob to Bar. Noob in Sub Faction. Get used to always being on the ♥♥♥♥ end of the stick when it comes to moving forward.
You must earn your progress in this game and that means a willingness to accept that sometimes you do not progress. you will have progress knocked back. you will get stuck for days. you will have hours of grinding stolen from you. You will get gate blocked, lose artifacts and get camped at times.
You will also be responsible for doing this to other players as well. You will love the game, or hate the game.
If you killed someone in a middle of nowhere and he has like 5kg backpack just leave it there, he will get it back and be thankful.
If you killed someone on your way home and you're sure you can safely get it to your base take it with you and send it back through the mail.
If you've got killed dont be afraid to ask that person for your backpack. There are lots of nice people and some of them will gladly send it back.
Keep the tools you get in side quests/main story to use on things you wanna keep using, like guns and armors on a specific tree. Once you get the exo-skeleton you will probably get matched into higher tier servers, with people using some higher tier armor and weapons, keep that in mind.
