Recommendations
I enjoy the game so here are some recommendations because some aspects I can't deal with.

PvP: This has Battle Royale feel to it, at any point I just get shot from behind and die.
Recommendation: An item that could cost some money that makes me immune to PvP damage. Also give me an icon on top of my head in the shape of a baby crying so people know not to waste their ammo on me.

Dropping Items: I enjoy this part, but the PvP adds a lot of randomness and there is no way for me to control any part of it. At any point I could die and lose a really good set of items.
Recommendation: Give me a little pouch item I can equip that lets me put a single item with maybe a max to how much it stacks, and I get to keep this item after death. This way even if I die I'll still be able to make some progress.

Travel Times: I have to go back to every place just to craft an item I want or need. It takes forever.
Recommendation: To ease it, maybe add a Guide you can hire to take you from one place to the other, the guy adds like 15% extra speed and stamina regen as long as you stay close to him, the buff dissipates if you take or deal damage. Let me complete a side quest on the settlement to unlock it as a fast travel point.

Events: A little boring to do them but it's just killing a set amount of enemies.
Recommendation: Add some events that take you to jump puzzles like "The Beast" quest. Escort events that let you protect an NPC that goes from point A to point B. Maybe one that spawns a boss after a few waves or smaller enemies.

Experience and Quests: I like that each town has its own level and we get some quests to increase it, but it gets boring after all quests are done since we have to just farm events.
Recommendation: Add endless quests like "Kill mutants" or "Gather x Item" The more you kill or gather the more you get.

I really like the game, but I quit because I spent my day farming for items at the dump but kept getting killed by players so I made no progress the entire time. Negative progress if you count re-buying ammo and health packs after each death.

Most of these suggestions would fit another game of this same ilk. Its called stalker anomaly. More or less it has everything that Stalcraft has, but the multiplayer. Most of the things make stalcraft quite enjoyable to play in all honisty.
Each town dose have a vender you can go to get a quest like garage has the gun merchent who will tell you to go and get items for him.

I learned this in the pvp related things, theres a number on the top left of your mini map, this number shows the players in a 50 meter radius, 1 means there is only you within 50 meters, any number from 2 and above that number shows there is others around you with in a 50 meter radius and that you must stay aware and alert of your surroundings.
the pvp will feel similar to battle royals since your in a wide open area, but that is because its an open world game, if you die the ammo will drop, but all i agree with you is the loot you drop is annoying, but i just try again, some runs you do into certian areas will end out in a death, but thats apart of the game, you must actually treat every moment similar to what you do in the actual stalker game.

Hope this gave you some info on pvp things, and others, just enjoy the game and be happy you dont have to worry about hunger and thirst lol

I started the game as stalker. It took me 7 days to reach endgame. at that point, I decided to make a bandit to see the opposing story.

what I learned, is that bandit has it much easier than stalker. you really won't see any PKers on the bandit side of the map. and funny enough, you won't see as many annoying terrain traps.

however, I find the overall game to be lacking regardless of playing an easy or difficult race. if you're already sick of the game as is, you'll only get more frustrated at the endgame, since the walking distance is longer and people actually loot your corpse and keep your lost bag.

This is genuinely a good suggestion

you can put stashes...

PvP and loot drops wouldn't be a problem if players wouldn't just be able to toss/sell the upgrade materials and other unneeded stuff just to be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. They don't gain anything out of it but they go out of their way to make sure you don't progress either.

Exactly, does any one of us have a practical solution for this? In what way should it be executed?

furthermore, if you're a stalker and try to go into bandit territory to pk them, you'll realize it's basically empty. there are almost no bandits in their own territory. meaning you're more likely to encounter pvp in the stalker zone.
