This is a PvP game, yes, but most specifically, faction VS faction.
A player from your faction being able to pick up all your loot when you accidentally die just before base to an anomaly is such stupid game design it's beyond comprehension.
It's NOT hardcore cus there's no way for you to get it back. You can't kill a friendly to take it back.

Had this whole fiasco in chat some hours ago. A rad storm had just passed over and I was running for my body because I didn't make it home. It was a ways away from our base so I never made it back.

Anyway, as soon as I bolt out of the bunker in the second map this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ called Barn_Owl does the same. I thought it was really weird that he basically ran the same direction the whole way there, only he was slightly in front of me. So he wasn't following me.

We get to my body and this guy jacks all my ♥♥♥♥ and bolts backwards. I tried to get his attention and ask him to stop, that's my ♥♥♥♥. He completely ignores me. We got the whole way back to base, at which point me talking in the chat got the attention of several other players - only, it didn't go as expected for me. At least 4 players were defending his way of playing. They were calling me all kinds of names because I had a problem with that play style.

I tried to point out the principle of stealing from your own team real hard, but obviously that was a waste of time.

Anyway, it was obvious that he used my "ally death" marker to pin my location of death so that he could run back and loot me on purpose. So, what gives? Is this type of play style supposed to exist? Friendly fire does not exist, so you can't hurt your own team in these situations. But your allies are allowed to loot your body after 2 minutes, which is perfect for rad storms because everyone is locked in for way longer.

Sorry for the big post, anyway, I switched factions and made an account named after what one of those people called me. I am now SchizoRevengeGuy and I hunt down arseholes.

It's beautiful. This is the perfect villain arch. Imagine calling someone a schizo then getting killed by someone with the exact same name you throw around so nonchalantly.

Besides, the bandit population is a disgrace. I should've spawned as a Stalker primary.

and what are you going to do when you encounter one of the 'inter-faction looters'? Shoot them? As opposed to seeing just a regular enemy faction member and... also shooting them?

You are blowing things out of proportion. Sure, it wasn't nice what the other guy did to you, but he couldn't have taken anything valuable. You could ask him to give you back your backpack with barter components. As for the other items, i cant imagine they were worth too much. That adds perspective. If you lost a 1p on the street and some guy dashed to take it, you would be weird out and think he's an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but making a personal vendetta against the guy is making you look like an unhinged loon. So calling yourself SchizoRevangeGuy is certanly on point. 10/10 certified reddit moment.

El otro dia me paso algo asi, por un error no me cure a tiempo y unos npc me mataron, habian otros dos jugadores limpiando el spawn conmigo y esperaron a que me muriera para robar mis cosas, llevaba como 3 horas de farmeo, habia gastado todas las curas, las balas y ya estaba listo para regresar a base pero me paso eso, hable con los tipos por DM pero nada que pudiera hacer
