SMG, worth it?

SMG tree offer great weapons, but they are not very powerfull for anything, it's sad to say that for an entire tree of technology. I already try BIZON, P90, MP5, UZI, KASHTAN and WALTHER MPK, they have the same problem bellow:

SMG on PVP:
- 9 mm isn't very powerfull than other ammo (I agree).
- Range of SMG are lower, you need to be closest for kill.
- Needs lot of modifications to be efficiency.
- Needs too much ammo to kill (+/- one charger per kill).
- SMG have a very heavy penalty at distance shoot.

SMG on PVE:
- Good on first map, decrease on others and began useless after the BAR.
- Needs too much ammo per event, 9mm is a Nerf ammo.
- Range of SMG are lower, you need to be closest for kill.
- SMG have a very heavy penalty at distance shoot.

I enjoy to play with my P90, i'm sad to say that, but you need to be informed about that technology tree, SMG are lowest than others trees like Assault/ MG and you can't do all high content with that.

I hope a patch for level up this tree, for exemple, use less ammo on PVPE to kill or less penalty at distance, but i already know, that is a dream :p.

There's a similar issue with anything that's not a 7.62 or As Val. Just feels kinda weak or doesn't have an implicit %damage per hit or; pistol damage modifier. Shotguns even have 1.5 mutant multiplier.

I gave the m4a1 a try but just feels worse than the seekers AK. Kinda sucks the story weapons are just so much better than the crafted blue weapons. Goina be a while to get the low purples too.

yeah... they should not have just given out such good equipment for MSQ, or even the side quests. It basically defeats the reward and purpose of farming for upgraded gear. I did the final MSQ with malachite scientist suit, and the seekers AK. And then i backtracked to get an RPD from a side quest, and now i have exo armor and an rpd that quite frankly, are better than the barter items. I have bartered ONE pistol the entire time, and then felt instant regret when i get a slightly lower damage pistol, but better in all other stats shortly after. Sure, the quest reward items can't be modified with different parts, but whats the point of getting the barter variant, which would entail a tooooon of farming time?

I know they are doing a balance update in January, and i think possibly a content update/addition? I was disappointed when i joined a subfaction that there is no new equipment to barter, just reskinned armor.

weird me and my friend find SMG actually super powerfull both in PVE and PVP ( cheap ammoes lighter weight so you can carry more, litle sway/spread so you can mag dump in head both PVE and PVP ennemies, and a bullet in the head is often enough to flatline someone ( i pay from that a lot)

I have the smg nut and cant tell if its worth using or not yet its 10mm but does faster damage than all my other guns besides at distance its bad havent really tried pvp with it due to anyone does more damage if not using smg

bad investment, pick an assault rifle or LMG

The Smug Nut is going to lose to the MPWhale every time. I literally just lost a fight where I had the drop on this dude inside a tight closed space. My Smug Nut was +5, my Aborigine was +7, his back was to me. It was point blank range almost. Smug Nut has 24 rounds. I pulled the trigger. Gun got to about 15 rounds before he was able to snap around and hit me with what felt like a 1 tap from his +5 MPWhale. His Aborigine was the same level as mine. I had the drop on him. He was facing away from me. I SHOULD of won that fight. But the MPX is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ busted that thanks to this games buttcheeks netcode you can drop 60 rounds in someones face before they can drop 24 in yours. Or he was speed hacking.

No that wasn't you. The fight I'm talking about happened inside a bunker out in Army Warehouse during an emission storm.

Unfortunately it doesn't get any better down the smg barter path; the Kris Vector would be a good gun if it had a drum/extended mag but it sadly doesn't have either. The winter event smgs are good though.

unfortunately for the time being as long as there isnt a red tier smg in the game it isnt worth it your better off investing into any of the ARs
