Farming Aether Shards
So we can automate everything except for the acquisition of Aether shards. We have to actively kill creates to get them. Is there or will there be a way to farm the creates automatically to truly make everything automated?

Hey, there is a way late in the game where you'll be able to automate aether shards. However, we don't plan to make killing creatures automatable. Also, since you need monster parts throughout the entire game, defeating creatures will keep being a part of our current gameloop.

Wish I knew that this was a thing before i bought this cause I would definitely have avoided it. A random manual intervention for an automated pipeline is just a bad idea that defeats the whole automation purpose for a non fun repetitive killing of monsters. Horrible and tedious design decision for no reason.

Helpful hint: focus on unlocking the Ladder blueprint so you can climb short cliffs (Elevator blueprint for larger cliffs) and explore the mountains. You'll need (at least one) Rocky Spark, but then you can clear the stones off of the little ancient containers and loot them. There are LOTS of Aether Clumps and Pellets in the containers covered by stones as compared to the containers in the forest area. Now, what to do once you've looted all these containers and used up the Aether? I guess, uninstall, because yeah, farming creatures for monster parts is fine, and actually a little fun, but farming them for Aether is no bueno.

You can eventually automate Aether (Aether fully automation is unlocked at tier 6 and is drastically improved at tier 7 ), so you'll only need to farm mobs for parts. You still might want to have semi-automatic line for shredding Aether Clumps and Pellets just to get rid of them though.

You can also use the sparks launching thing into respawn points of different creatures to have an infinite source of aether.

Spark Thrower, unlocked at tier 3. It automatically farms a target area for you.

Combine it with spark factories to supply the Spark Thrower with Choppy Sparks and/or Loamy Sparks on the input. And Item Filters on the output to separate Aether Shards from other farmed items.

You can feed the farmed Aether Shards directly back into the spark factories.

Finally, add a Compressor to convert excess farmed items into Aether Residue and prevent the whole setup from jamming.

Everything is automated, with the exception of spending Aether Residue back at the town.

honestly I've rarely had to kill anything beyond the bare minimum, get out and explore a bit, open every ancient container you see. gotten so many aether shards/clumps I still have excess even after making hundreds of sparks.
