Judge something by its merit, not the merit of something else.
An example of this would be liking chocolate because it's tasty. Not because the sky is blue.
That's coz the game is the cake, and Neuro is the icing.
You're not wrong, but let people have their fun. These days, games barely function like that anyway. Microstransactions are like missing bits of icing on the cake.
Besides, game might actually sell even more if the creator does add his AI creation in the game as a skin. If you aren't familiar then watch Neuro-sama on twitch or youtube.
He literally codes the game on his twitch channel with said AI vtuber lmfao. He made a "ranking" stream and gave people who had the game on their wishlist 1 point on that stream. You're taking this too seriously with regard to the context of the post.
The context of the post is "I'm not buying the game is Neuro isn't in it"
It's kinda not possible to take this too seriously. Also, if I code a game at a Starbucks, should I include Starbucks in the game? No, because it's not related to the game.
References are a thing you know. There's a difference in coding in starbucks and including starbucks in your game vs. having your brainchild in your game as a reference/tribute to the fans.
You're kinda missing the point as to why someone would post something like this in the first place. No one would care about a starbucks reference. But OP just might actually get the game for an AI vtuber despite how mundane that sounds.
At the end of the day, it's the consumer's own volition whether they buy it or not to support Vedal--with or without Neuro. At the same time, it's Vedal's call to add a reference to his AI vtuber.
To take this post seriously (i can't tell if it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from OP but who knows)
From a financial perspective, if fans would actually get his game just for Neuro, that's a win on Vedal's end regardless.
Please stop trying to defend this. I'm not missing the point, it's just a dumb point.
Let's say you write a book. Then you start making a game. Are you gonna like it when someone tells you "I'm not buying your game unless this character I like from your book is in it".
It feels pretty bad, to know your only achievement in the eyes of someone else is that book character, right? Like, what's even the point in making the game if people only value this character that isn't even related to it?
This is why I said that a game should be judged by its own merit.
Yes, having Neuro as a character would be a neat reference. But it should not be the sole deciding factor of whether to buy the game it not, it shouldn't even be a consideration.
You buy games because they're fun, not because they make references to the things you like.
After seeing your reply on the femboy post, I feel like I got baited into having a "serious" discussion based on a twitch thing. You really sound so adamant about this but I respect your dedication so here goes my last post:
a.) Do I see your point, yes. I don't think products should be evaluated based on someone's endorsements but on its quality. But regardless, celebrity endorsement in businesses is a thing. Should it be practiced here? It's not up to us, but personally I don't see how Vedal is gonna worry that people bought his game just for an easter egg or something. I mean a sale is a sale. And for what it's worth, I'm sure Vedal is making a great game with how dedicated he is on his dev streams.
b.) The post is practically motivated by a thing on Twitch, of course it's a dumb point. You're far too high up on your high horse that you have to engage the OP in the first place with a serious statement.
You weren't baited into anything. You deliberately chose to continue the discussion here.
I didn't say anything about celebrity endorsement. It's fine, since, as far as I care, it's just advertising.
The post is motivated by the desire of the OP. And there's no way to tell if they are serious or ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Which is why I made my comment, because either way, it IS childish.
I'm not on any high-horse, I'm literally just voicing my discontent with a bad statement.
I mean I'm definitely not super serious with that take. But on the other hand, many people won't even know vedal or this game if not for the exploded popularity of Neuro. So I think it's ok for me to ask for Neuro's presence in some shape or form.
Also right now I don't really see any merit in this game. For example there is another game called "HoloCure", will that free game be as popular if it's not themed around Hololive? Probably not.
If Neuro is in this game, it'll definitely push the sales.
