Could you please help me and explain how the Samurai robot works in normal combat? (not parry)
I've done the first fight against one a few times now.

I can't get the parry to stick yet, but that's not what I want to talk about.
During the regular fight, it appears as if the robot breaks some of the rules that have been established so far. However, I doubt that, so I would like to ask for advice on how I am reading this wrong.

When fought for a bit, the robot surrounds itself with the aura that also gets used for parry kills on large enemies, but this is before its long parry animation. Attacking it at this time makes a Z-shielding visual pop up, but sending Macaron in does not appear to work against it here.

As the shielding is temporary, would I need a double-damage proc off the 25%/50%/75% chance chip to break the shielding due to Macaron's long cooldown? I know that it doesn't last long and that I'm meant to parry its blitz attack or three-hit-combo, but this is the thing where I lose the most health throughout the fight, meaning I have less for attempting the forced parry kill at the end.

So, could someone please explain to me how the robot's rules work?

I'm not aware of any option to replay finished levels, so I can't go grind for more health upgrades. As such, my only option appears to be to get through this fight somehow, which is starting to get a bit repetitive at this point. :)

It also seems to occasionally jump out of combos while fully stunned, which has me very confused. Is this something that other enemies do as well, and I've just not noticed it, or is this exclusive to this robot up to this point?

(To clarify: I can kill it, if I can overwhelm it with damage while it is stunned and therefore avoid the long parry combo, but this enemy appears to not work in accordance with many of the regular rules of combat. I doubt this is the last time I'll see this enemy, so I would like to know what I am misunderstanding here.) :)

If I'm reading you right, the "aura" you're talking about is after you've damaged him a bit and he's blocking attacks, yeah? When he has that going on, he's Enraged and he launches a barrage of slashes on you. You can do a number of things during this phase.

1. Either Parry all his hits, and it will stun him.
2. Just dodge and stay away from him. He will stop being Enraged after launching his slash barrage twice.
3. If you've already unlocked Korsica, you can stun him. Again twice to take him off his Enrage, or you can break his yellow shield bar and try and finish him off.

After that, all you need to do is take down the yellow shield bar and go for the kill. Use Peppermint to help bring down the shield. If you do it fast enough, you might kill him fast enough to even skip the final parry sequence.
