I just really hate the samurai, I can perfectly parry all his attacks except for that damned poetic blade

his Rhythm Parry Attack? i found it to be one of the hardest in the game to parry. keep at it though, i eventually got it and parry it perfectly every time now. maybe practice it a bit in the training room

Don't let the poetry and sound effects distract you, just count the beat in the background.

The pattern is exactly 2 bars:

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - | 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 -

ok ive somehow ascended and mastered parrying his poetic blade 20 minutes after making this thread, knowing the pattern didnt help at all, I just do it based on reaction

Do you have Korsica? Summoning her also stuns the Samurai and you can summon Peppermint right after to take down the shield and make quick work of him by aerial-comboing him to death.

nice, faster than me. it took me several playthroughs before I could do it perfectly

I spend an hour and a half hitting my head against the wall because I had no idea how to handle is enraged phase. The arena was so small that having him enrage in the middle resulted in it hitting you nearly anywhere.

I booted up the game yesterday and slaughtered that encounter on level 5 with Mr.Samurai and his two shield cronies on the first try without any damage. Now I mince them anytime I run across them.

It's been the only place I've been full on stonewalled. Plus it was never explained that 8th note parries exist which feels like a MASSIVE thing to not communicate before something with such shenanigans.
