My advice is not to rely at all on any of the visual indicators. If you have a gamepad with proper rumble (see: not the Steam Deck), the gamepad will give you a quick buzz if you hit any input on beat. If you're off beat, it does nothing.
I've found this to be the single easiest way to guarantee 90%+ across the board.
Will see if it gets better with my other headphones.
edit:
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
the issue were actually my bluetooth headphones. I just switched back to my other head phones that are connected per cable and not Im hitting again on beat.
I feel like I have to type out something a bit longer now.
Bluetooth always has an audio delay, while you can get used to it, it's still just not going to work in rythm games.
Youtube for example will delay the video to fit in with the audio, which makes the many "test your audio delay" completely useless, at least for bluetooth.
It's a shame that the tech is just not there yet, I really like my bluetooth earbuds, but they're just terrible for gaming.
But yeah, its weird that the delay is so noticeable and the tech sill isnt there yet. Would have assumed that this should be a thing of the past.
Thanks again!
Probably would have never figured it out.
Then I switched back to my connected speakers and wired headphones, and everything was fine.
