I'll still keep trying my hand at this but I'm not sure what else to try at this rate. I don't wanna bank on someone else cracking it open, but I'm slowly getting to that mindset :P
We shall see in time
Don't think modding this game will be possible any time soon.
There are files that one can extract, yes, but not the music tracks themselves. I haven't been able to do anything right with QuickBMS. Not sure if anyone has had a good crack at it yet. What you can probably nab are some misc audio like Chai's guitar hits/riffs whenever a character is summoned.
Something interesting I found was that Chai's basic attacks have two hit sound files for every stage but there are clearly more played ingame that are pitched with whatever song is on. What I think is going on is there is one of the guitar hit sounds are pitched through the engine, much like how DJSSN's attacks are done in NSR, another music game thats kinda like this. A modder would have to essentially do that fine tuning to a custom track and yeah, it does sound like a nightmare.
so far i found someone trying to mod in music and has a github: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz-53GhV7Uw
Does anyone know how to use the files given from the github?
looks like there's an update to the mod and it has instructions now
