I changed the cat head beat to number two setting which helped me a lot compared to the default one.
Have you had a look at those? Also try the practice arena. I did that for about an hour and now instead of 50% on beat I’m hitting about 76% so definitely improving.
Honestly though, I think it’s a git gud kinda game. I’d love to be able to be fluid at the game.
In combat, you attacks always land on the beat, so similar to how you counted the beat to practice, you can count out 5 beats of light attacks (starting the input on the first beat, and the hit connecting on the second), and you press X every time the guitar connects with the enemy. Heavy attacks, similar to the snap always have a one-beat pause after the input which is more tricky to get used to, but when you're comfortable with the beat it becomes a lot easier to sense when you need to press the button again.
The training state is available to you now so if you want you can practice there for a bit, or do all the steps I mentioned in the relevant stage since you're not graded on time outside of combat.
I use the number two setting aswell, went to the settings at the point where I realised I want to do better, what are you looking for on the cat head, when the circle pulses out or when it starts to pulse?
That's a fairly good improvement, guess I'll hop in the training area aswell then.
So you suppose to time the attack when the two red half circles touch, but you have to still hit the attack in mid animation to keep the rythm or just wait for the animation end and hit it again then?
I wait for it just as it pulses but also if you listen to the music carefully when you do the three dashes in game it'll be with the music. I did this a lot when out of combat, just learned to dash three times in time with the music. You'll get the hang of it, I'm sure.
It's a tough game for sure if you don't play these kind of games like me. Just practice and try and find things in the game that'll help you keep with the beat. I sometimes tap my foot whilst playing which sounds kinda lame but it helps LOL.
