Real teammates facing real probmems. This is just a bunch of cool kids rebelling against a big corporation that met 5 minutes ago in funny situations. The ''team'' of this game is very artificial. They are a team because they say so but truly, they arn't. Nothing about this game, story and universe is thick enough to require or even justify some mass effect level of conversations. It's about the gameplay, the aesthetic, the pace and the vibe.
If you take the game seriously, I mean Peppermint would be the worse human in the universe and would not deserve listening less following, just consider how she treats Chai as a literal disposable meat bag for a good half of the game without even an once of gratitude, while constantly mocking him and not being much careful when she sends him in dangerous situations as if it was nothing...I mean, if we look at her from an IRL perspective, she's an horrible person too. Way worse, in fact. As they all are. And for one Peppermint mocks Chai for not being careful or responsible, she sent him into hell without even a B plan five times more.
Yet it's a funny/childish/cool/not serious universe so she's kinda doing a good job at what she's intended to be. As many loved characters are. They are characters, not persons, and they serve a purpose. Chai and Peppermint's purpose is to serve the game's vibe and pace. They do it quite well. Their evolutions and relations are very meh and as artificial as the dangers they are facing. It's the Big Mac level of unique and legit, but something deeper might have harmed the game as it would have been trickier to do, and might not fit the game at all. Sometimes it's easier and a better decisipn to be lazy and Tango chose the safe route. Good for them and us, I think the result is decent enough to serve a good game.
Please apologize my english
Something tells me that they're lacking in the avenue of critical thought.
I feel like he's just a typical teenage "know-it-all"? He doesn't bother me at all, but then, I've had two teenage boys.
