Transferring PC Game Pass saves to Steam
I wanted to share with y'all how to transfer your saves from Game Pass to Steam.

If you're like me, you may have tried the game on Game Pass and decided to buy the game on Steam, but found yourself in the sticky situation of losing progress if you moved platforms. Here's how to move that progress over and keep on hitting those beats!

1. Install the game on Steam, and play until you make it to a checkpoint so the game saves to a Steam save file. You'll know you have a checkpoint once the Main Menu says "Continue".

2. Find your Game Pass save at:

C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Local\Packages\BethesdaSoftworks.Hibiki(stringofchars)\SystemAppData\wgs\(long string of chars)

You will find an index file and two folders here, each containing a file and a container file. Ignore the container files. In one folder is your player profile file (24KB) and in the other is your actual save file. Easy way to tell the difference is your save file will be much bigger in KB (mine was 2272KB). Copy that file.

3. Find your Steam save file at:

C:\Users\(your user name)\Saved Games\TangoGameworks\Hi-Fi RUSH (STEAM)\Saved\SaveGames

The Steam file is called SaveGameSlot1.sav. Move that file somewhere safe and paste your Xbox save file in this folder, then rename it to SaveGameSlot1.sav. The file type should change to SAV.

4. Boot the Steam game, and confirm your save works. That's it!

Thankyou, game pass version nothing but crashes so far

When I did this the file type stays as a folder and goes undetected by the game. I converted it to .zip and then changed it to .sav and that changed it a SAV finally but then the game says UNSUPPORTED DATA or something. Any help?

Achievements do not unlock automatically - you will need to do something to trigger them, which does make some impossible to unlock if youve already fulfilled all the requirements. For the difficulty ones you just need to beat the final boss again if youve already done all hte missions, a lot of the "beat hit" or other ones will just trigger on any beat it, etc. But others, like upgrading your health, are impossible on a file with health already max'd.

I'm having this same issue. It says the save data is from an older version of the game, but both Steam and Game Pass versions are up to date, so I don't get it

I fixed it but forget how - I think I do recall, though, that I was grabbing the wrong file! Make sure you re-read the instructions again and make backups, experimenting with what you transfer

Well I just accidentally deleted all of my progress ( I had beaten the whole game) because i used the original file instead of copy pasting it. Don't be like me guys. Guess I gotta replay :steamfacepalm:

Worked for transfer between game pass accounts as well :D

Oh man thanks so much. I had some trouble but it was because I had deleted the game on gamepass and obviously the saved data file wasn't sync locally. but it definitely worked.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart, I had lost my progress on a computer because the files were damaged but thanks to the folders where the saved files are I was able to recover my progress, thank you very much

Idk if you'll see this, but how did you find it? I can't find the Bethesda folder and I'm guessing it's because the game is no longer installed. Where do local save files go when deleting a game pass game?

I see...
So if it means if any of my upgrades weren't on max level, it could be unlocked by just upgrading it manually?
And such as parry and beat hits, it can also unlocked by playing the game if it triggered the moves?
Sorry for these question, I'm trying to transfer my progress from Steam to GamePass:burosob:
