this game doesn't recognize ps5 controller? O.o

i was pretty surprised a new game on steam doesnt recognize it, or maybe is something in my settings wrong? i have to use Ds4windows to enable the controller, but it shows the buttons as xbox buttons :\

even without ds4windows just using steaminput seems there are only xbox controller prompts for me with a dualsense controller.

to clarify, using steaminput works with playstation controllers and can play the game fine. It just still has xbox prompts regardless.

Why would you assume such a thing? Tango Gameworks is a subsidiary of Bethesda, which is owned by the Xbox division of Microsoft. Microsoft wants yo to play with their Xbox One / Series controller. Furthermore this game is only on Windows (Microsoft) and Xbox (Microsoft), why should they add prompts of a controller from a rival company.

I won't hold my breath for other prompts here.

I play HFR and FH4 on Dualsense with XBOX prompts, didnt feel uncomfortable tbh.

Well, the game doesn't care if you use Logitech gamepad or a Bigben, or a X-52 Hotas. It can't guess the symbol drawn on the button 0 input.

If it use Xinput, then button 0 = (A green Xbox), even if you use Switch Game pad Pro (black B button)

Why not? It should be standard by now. 8 despise Xbox controllers. PlayStation ones I absolutely love.

Yeah, unfortunatelly most AAA games consider PC - "xbox" platform with controllers. The same thing is like everywhere. The best case if they will allow to change prompts manually.

People here fail to realize that there are probably no PlayStation 5 prompts as this is an Xbox developed title and not found on PlayStation. Why waste resources to add (even if those are miniscule) to add prompts of a rival company.

This was also done by a Xbox subsidiary company to boot... but I guess it's the usual clown award farming. The person that left a negative review really seems to be swimming in clowns already for that.

The controllers don't work for me in this game. Works fine on all the other games on steam..

yeah windows store/files don't have the integration steam does to make games recognize as xinput. only a very select few games natively support PS5/4 controllers.

My ps5 controller works just fine . If you just mean the prompts, literally learn to play lol. A is X, X is Square, Y is Triangle, B is Circle.
It's not even something i consciously notice when gaming anymore.

there is a program that you have to separately install, or use glosc thats how I got steam controller to work... I think there is joy something or nother for PS controllers. I just don't like PS controllers my thumbs run into each other.
