Nvidia Reflex breaks beat synchronization
I've turned this option to On+Boost and played for a bit. It felt really wrong. I couldn't get a bonus for pressing the buttons in time. It almost felt like I get bonus for timed ButtonUp event not for ButtonDown.

So I've turned Reflex off completely and all of a sudden now all button presses register correctly. I can't believe this was oversaw by developers and there is a frigging graphic setting that breaks the core gameplay feature.

Why would you enable Reflex on a game that doesn't support it? Nvidia website has a list of games that officially support it.

Except it does. Nvidia probably just didn't updated their list yet as the game was shadow dropped out of nowhere. As for the actual issue discussed here, what exactly is the problem? And are you sure that you are just more used to the timing for Reflex disabled and it's just that the change in latency is throwing you off?

There's literally an option for it inside the game buddy

And i can 100% confirm this. Enabling Nvidia Reflex breaks the game.

For me at ON is working fine at highest difficulty, maybe leave the boost out.

Wow, I was wondering why I had trouble hitting the beats. I have a musical background and pretty good rhythm, but sometimes it felt kinda delayed. I'm going to try disabling Nvidia Reflex! Will update this comment if it works better.

I thought I was just really ♥♥♥♥ at this game. I had it on too and my timing always felt spot on but it seemed to just not work.

Yep I can confirm. I play way better with Nvidia Reflex off. I'm not sure but I think the problem is that the input lag becomes so ridiculously low with it enabled, that you get more SOUND lag than INPUT lag, which messes you up. Whatever the case this game definitely plays better with Reflex off

hmm i dont even remember seeing that option lemme check.

Ok i checked mine was currently at ON so that must be the default, maybe avoid BOOST.

Caping your framerate to a value your computer can 100% sustain may also help. In a rythm based game, having a constant latency is more important than having a low latency. Uncapped framerate means the latency fluctuates, which is very bad (it breaks the rythm).

What this game lacks is an option to fine tune latency (you can test it, but not tune it), like Crypt of the Necromancer for example has.

I have searched for a post like this bc it sometimes feels the same for me that the buttons are actually a bit too fast with reflex on. I stuggled a lot with the Korsica fight even though it felt like I pressed at preferred timing to beat. Either it is really "too precise" or I am not as good at feeling the beat as I thought I would be haha

For me its the opposite. I found this thread bc i was keep missing beat hits and wondered if i just didnt get its logic. Turned on Reflex + Boost and im getting perfect on every hit. People should try both to see which one is better. This is with headphones, external speakers might be adding audio latency which is compensated with video lag from no reflex btw, just a thought.

It's right there in the settings menu. I'm rather curious how on earth did you ever come to this conclusion.
I played Hi-Fi Rush in 75 fps, with both On+Boost, On, and Off.
I felt basically all same but I'm not sensitive person. what do i know.
Also I'm NVIDIA User but AMD Anti-Lag+ Support when
