Hopefully it's more Jet Grind than Sunset...

Jet Grind Radio, much like Gitaroo Man had real charm and were genuine in their presentations. Sunset was too sarcastic and snarky with slight hints of mean-sprititedness. But it kinetically played fantastic.

I'm hoping Hi-Fi Rush has the spirit and presentation of Jet Grind and Gitaroo Man, and the body of Sunset Overdrive.

I'd be interested to know what someone who has played all of these games thinks.

Well... just found out that this game has intrusive DRM. I'm no longer interested in paying for this, so I'll just wait to see if they take it out, or i'll find it elsewhere. I was genuinely excited for this. I'm such a righteous masochist.

I think it's better than Sunset Overdrive. This is essentially a vibrant and colorful cartoon come to life. No loading screens. Seemless transition between the amazing animated cutscenes and realtime gameplay. Pure eye candy. Combat is fluid once you get the hang of things, and the boss battles have some excellent music choices. This game is basically an eye candy adrenaline rush with some of the best animation in gaming I've ever seen.

Sunset was a shooter while this is a brawler like God of War or DMC but a lite one since you have to be on rhythm so it is in part a music game like Crypt of the Necrodancer or Metal Hellsinger.

If you ever played Mother 3 you get the gist, you do more damage the better you time your attacks with the music beat.

i was getting the vibes of more sunset overdrive considering how just looking at the trailer was like it reminds me of sunset overdrive which is a really great game

DRM is Digtial Rights Management

you can look up more online but pretty much you dont actually own any of the games you buy on steam
