i came for the gameplay so i dont mind
With that said, besides Phin being an unlikeable annoying character I don't see her ability to make all this tech up as bad. Peter's done crazier things in the games and in the comics despite being a broke teenager/co-ed, it works within the rules of the universe they're in so it's not that out of place.
The writing definitely needed work though, we didn't have enough time in this tiny-ass DLC to really care for most of the characters but I thought Ganke and some of his other friends were okay. I know people who speak the way they do ironically and unironically, and I think it's fine, it's funny to me. That's all subjective though.
Phin was the thorn sticking out, they tried to make us like her and then see her as someone struggling but it never came through that way. She just seemed overly emotional and erratic, which you could chalk down to what she's been through but it really doesn't work. If there was more time cooking that relationship I would've almost felt something, but alas there just wasn't enough. We got so many hours Peter and Octavius and their relationship was so great that they make her look worse by comparison.
$30-40 would be a better price
I personally thought it was fantastic! Graphics on medium were solid (my computer is pretty mid at the moment) and the story was as good as I expected from a teenager just getting into the role of a superhero. It showed a lot of how Miles is still a kid and bad at being a hero; but how he grows into that better.
$40 would've been a better price instead of $50, I believe it was $40 on PS but I got it on sale for $37 so it's a point that didn't bother me. People keep saying it's like DLC but it's literally standalone DLC to bridge SPM 1 to 2 when it comes out; you guys gotta do better research before buying games.
The gameplay is 10/10 something that truly feels amazing to swing and fight as Miles. And I don't get how 12 hours or so is short. I remember growing with 6 hour campaigns in games and that would be amazing. People needing 100 hours of content really need to touch grass. I can't finish most games that take that long to play through due to life getting in the way.
No one ever said it has to offer 100hrs but people act like 7hr main story is acceptable for a semi-open world game like this. For a DLC it is, but Miles Morales is not a DLC. It is in fact a standalone game. The developers confirmed this quite some time ago, so maybe do some of that research you spoke of. The issue isn't the gameplay or that the story was weak (even though it wasn't my favorite), it's because the game is like a DLC but sold at the price of a full game.
Your point?
$50 dollars is essentially the full price of the game. As I told you before, the game's really only around 15hrs to complete which was an estimate, but sources claim it's actually 18hrs for 100% completion. Others on the forums have shared similar information as well. Please do your research next time.
