Is it required to play this before Spider-Man 2?

I have played the original game and own the sequel. Wanted to check if I need to play this to get the full context of the story and gameplay.

Do you need to play it? Probably not. I haven't played the sequel, but I don't see anything in this enjoyable game that should be a requirement for another game. It's just a standalone game that develops the character of Miles Morales and his relationships. It's not like anything too crucial happens that should affect the storyline for Spider-Man 2. I am saying that having completed the main story and 92% of the achievements.

The rest of the achievements I have to finish New Game Plus. I may do that eventually, but I have other games to play first.
