The Spider-Man 2 PC "leak" downloads are fake

PC_Focus is openly hosting malware behind a hashed link, which either takes you to an ad funnel or takes you to a 1.2MB download of "SafeDLL". I did not download it as I don't believe compiled code for a 256GB project is valid, let alone even covering over 100GB of import statements in code.

I got banned from their discord because they perpetuate the idea that DLLs are "uncompiled source code", and that DLLs are never compiled code. They also created an obscure bot command to state the download is malware, rather than removing the download. This way they can claim "it was at the user's risk" while not giving sufficient warning to said user.

Let's all report the PC_Focus discord and get it banned for openly endangering people on the internet.

It is real, but not on the PC_Focus discord. He claimed he'd "vet the download" before posting the link, and then posted 1.2MB "SafeDLL.EXE" hidden behind a ton of ad funnels. I'm entirely convinced that's a ransomware.

Uh, sorry bro... it's real. You may get all worked up by people calling you a fanboy, or that you're not able to download the game and play it... And if you can skip all the other languages (besides English), the final size is 231 GB's (not 256). I was playing yesterday (for historical purposes only) on a Ryzen 7 / RTX 4090 setup and it runs really well (4K/60 FPS with some tweaks). There are obviously some issues, but nothing game breaking.

If it "looks good for me" or not, it's irrelevant. Again, I didn't (and I won't) post links on how to obtain it, and it's not even on my hard drive anymore. I own the original on Ps5, and I just tested the "PC port", again, for "historical reasons" (and of course, curiosity). And it does work, surprisingly well.

Nods. There is emulated port from PS5, and I don't care a bit if people do that. I however am waiting for a true PC port I can buy on steam, because as long as they use the team from the last 2 it will work just fine on my PC.

It's not emulated, it's a native PC port people are working on.

Yes, as in you can emulate it now with full bugs and legal issues, or wait for the official PC release. PC port = they recompile the game to work with windows, and all the other stuff like DLSS and Nvidia + Intel graphic drivers (PS5 runs AMD native).
