Sudden drop in frame rate

I seem to have an issue with a random drop in frame rate from over 100 to under 20 FPS. Solved after a restart, but it's happening quite often :/

I have a 3080 and an 3700x and the previous Spider-Man game ran well

If it's not a big deal for you try lowering the Crowd and Vehicle Density and with DLSS on set your Frame Target with the Dynamic Resolution, Thanks to DLSS this works while keeping Frames steady and game still looks amazing. Also some stutters are being caused by Steam Input on the Controller if you go to properties and disable Steam Input from the controller menu you should be good.

I already tried to lower the settings a bunch and I always played with DLSS.

It's such a weird scenario where the frames just never go over 20 all of a sudden, what ever I do in the game. It even lags in the menu when trying to quit.

Are you using Fullscreen or Exclusive Fullscreen?

Game seems to need a performance patch. Switching DLSS from quality to ultra performance resulted in worse framerates sometimes and I had to keep toggling between the two for the game to finally improve performance on the lower setting. Also on 3080 and no issues with the previous game.

RTX 3080 and Ryzen 5800x, I feel like I get the same issues; I thought the first Spider-Man ran way better than Miles Morales for me, at least so far. Exclusive fullscreen over regular fullscreen definitely made a noticable difference for me as far as choppiness goes, though.

I did a clean reinstall of the gpu drivers and it hasn't happened again

I had to restart the game, or change other settings (then change them back) to get my performance to go back to normal after changing options sometimes.

The game seems to be a bit of a mess on launch, to be honest. Performance is all over the place and can get into a tanked state sometimes. I gave up trying to get it to run well for now.

Nothing fast about it. It was the usual 2 years between NVidia launches.

Same issue here but my drops aren't as bad. I'll go from 100 to high 40s at the worst.

Same 3070ti 13700k sudden drop from 80 to 40 restart fixes it.
