Should I play the first one first?

Do the stories connect in any way? Do they play differently? Or doesn't matter, and getting both to play at the same time would be worth it?

Unfortunately I never played it, but I saw all the full stories on YT. Yes, they are connected. If you want context on some things, I'd say play the first one first, but you can enjoy miles morales without actually having played the first one.

Yes the stories connect and they also play differently, PP is more like classic spiderman, while MM has "venom" powers which mix up the combat considerably.

You should play Spider-Man remastered first.

The recap button on the main menu pretty much explains Miles backstory until the start of the game. But yeah you should definitely play the first game before Miles for the best experience possible.

Got kind of "tired" of same old with the base game, still haven't finished. Does Miles kick the game up in any way more interesting worth adding? Of course the promo video looks great, but sorta same too. Is Miles more techie, for instance?

The first game is not necessary to enjoy Miles Morales. You won't be left lost or confused or anything. But it is still highly recommended to play the first to grasp the bigger picture and add some more context to things.

Playing them in order is my main suggestion in other words.

Miles does not have Venoms power set.. Hes some what closer to spider woman than venom.

Miles can use webbing like Peter, he has Venom attacks and can disappear in shadows.

Yes. The first game sets up the second, is Mile’s origin, and is a better game yo boot.
