Platinum Achievement
Whilst it is fantastic that they included the Be Yourself achievement with this game, it renders the equivalent Be Greater achievement, disincluded from the Steam release of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, all the more conspicuous by its absence. This is a great shame, as it precludes players from being able to display said achievements side by side in a showcase, for example, and/or alongside the respective platinum achievements from all of Sony's other propriety IPs on Steam (even including Sackboy™: A Big Adventure). Whilst perhaps the majority of players feel indifferent about such matters, there is a core group of Steam users who feel quite strongly about this topic, and who would be immensely grateful if the issue were to be formally addressed, if not rectified.

Believe it or not, American English isn't the sole variation of the language. Whilst remains in common parlance in the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Canada.

I (and various others) have requested that a single, oddly omitted achievement be added to a single game; I fail to understand which part of this constitutes entitlement. I notice that, in your review of Satisfactory, you mention that it 'needs some achievements', so I suppose this renders you too an 'entitled prick' by your own yardstick. Perhaps it is unfair to expect consistency from a dopehead.

It's possible your feedback was heard and that's why Insomniac/Nixxes decided to add Be Yourself achievement in Miles Morales.

If they were to add the platinum achievement to Marvel's Spider-Man right now, it would frustrate more players than it would make happy. They cannot retroactively and automatically grant the Platinum achievement to all players who already 100% the game, so completionists who already moved on would be forced to at least download and open the game again (a bad experience in multiple levels).

They can still add it. It'll pop the second you open the game.

I believe Cold Deck? ...'s angle was more that some players may resent the imposition of reinstalling the entire game to reattain perfect game status. I sympathise with this point, to an extent, but should still prefer that the achievement be added.

I do like to think that the community's requests may have, in some part, influenced the inclusion of Be Yourself.

Whilst perhaps upsetting to the odd achievement hunter, I am largely confident in the belief that the majority of those who have gone to the effort of attaining all otherwise achievements would not take exception to having to reboot the game to restore its perfect status. Had previous PlayStation titles not set the precedent of including their respective PSN platinum trophies as Steam achievements, I think that few, if any, would take issue with the absence of Be Greater; the aspect of incongruity is what irks most people.

It is a real shame that Steam achievements are not server-based, as is customary for both PlayStation and Xbox games. This would not only preserve the integrity of achievements by nullifying utilities such as Steam Achievement Manager, but would also allow for developers to unlock achievements for eligible accounts on the backend. I recall Infinity Ward doing so for the notoriously bugged Dominion trophy (win 5 online matches in Multiplayer), which served as a 'platinum-killer' for many.

Peinlich.
