Why is my character movement choppy and how do I fix it?

Hey everyone,

Thanks for playing Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales! We have seen some reports about 'choppy' or 'lagging' character movement or 'stutter' and 'low frame rate' for the player character.

This is an intentional and optional effect that is applied to the game when you equip the Vibe the Verse Suit Mod, that comes with the Spider-Verse Suit. This suit mod alters Miles's frame rate movements to match that of the film.

You can disable this effect by making sure the Vibe the Verse Suit Mod is not equipped. You can do so by going to the Suit Menu and then Suit Mods. Keep in mind that this effect is applied to all suits when the mod is equipped.

Frames is fine but his movement is choppy?

After the intro missions I see that his movement is choppy. The surrounding area is fine but his movement looks like he is lagging.

It is so when you have the Vibe the Verse Suit Mod equipped. This alters Miles's frame rate movements to match that of the film. This effect is also visible with other suits as long as you have this suit mod equipped. If you do not like this effect, you can use another suit mod.

I also have this problem. It was working perfectly, but now Miles "strobe lights"....it doesn't matter what suit he has on for myself...his frame rate is off, while everything else is smooth.
Needs a fix/patch for sure

Have you got the Spider-Verse suit on with its Suit Power? If so that’s intentional!

this has already been answered, make sure you don't have spider verse suit mod on or you will get 20 FPS with miles to match spider-man into the spiderverse.

Actually should be 12 fps. Peter was animated with 24 fps and they halved Miles' animation speed to show how he's lagging behind Peter still. By the end of the movie they bumped him up to 24 fps to show his coming into being Spider-Man. Neat little trick.

Not FPS drops but....

I am not sure how to describe it, because its not FPS-related.. the world around me looks fluid and good, but somehow Miles animations when jumping and swinging look.... off? Stuttering?
I lowered the settings to very low and its even worse, so I guess its not an performance issue and I could play the first game at very high as well without Raytracing

Anyone else noticed this strange animations?

there is a suit mod that does this think its the spiderverse one but if you take it off all is well

If you're not wearing the Vibe suit mod and this still occurs, override your controller settings to disable steam input. Had the same thing happening to me initially. After turning of steam input, game plays perfectly

I wish there was an option to limit the game to 24 fps while wearing the Into the Spider-Verse suit mod. Or at least for the cutscenes. Seeing Miles be in 12 fps while I'm running at 75 fps is just awkward lol.
