IS THERE ANY ROMANCE IN THIS GAME? AS IN, CAN YOU ROMANCE NPCS AT ALL????

Apparently, there is. However, only as end-game content when you finish the main story. Throughout the game, you can grow close to certain NPCs as in a bond, and when you reach the end of the main story, you have some sort of event or something similar where you can eventually get them to move in with you, regardless of gender. Instead of marriage, it's called partnership. My guess is that the romance is muted or at least not so overt, hence the reason it wasn't part of the marketing. I hope this helps!
