Seriously regarding the character selection
So I picked guy and every single one looks like a girl and then when I picked girl every single one looked the same as the guys aka ZERO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN APPEARANCES?

Is this a glitch or did they seriously just make everyone look female?

I couldn't even change the hair style.

I will not stand for your intolerance and bigotry. Harvestella is an inclusive game for all. Except for muscular cis men.

Seriously though I was hoping for character customizations like in Final Fantasy 14. I have no problems with adding non binary options and allowing anyone to customize their character anyway they want. But, instead of proper character customization they all look the same. Feels more like lazy development.

Femboy protagonists are common in JRPGs. I don't get how this is any different or why it's a surprise.

I know you were joking but that is what the non binary option is for lol.

People should have a choice to play as a male that looks male or a female that looks female or a choice that looks like neither.

This was just plain laziness and I'm like 8 seconds into the game and it's a bad impression.

lol the child you meet is more male than the main char lol

not to this level... I mean why even give a choice at all, it just smacks of laziness.

First off, accept that many companies are doing this, feminizing males and 'unifying' the two sexes, so to speak.

Second, ask yourself 'Why?'

Maybe the real reason is that they didn't even want a male char but to please the men out there they decided to just spread the legs a bit more on the male model and call it a day.

Jokes aside the male character being so effeminate is rather funny, especially given how very little difference there is between the two, to a point I'm honestly not sure they put any effort into it. It's not a matter of pleasing anyone, it's just lazy modelling.

This is currently the way - even Disney did it with their game.

I would have been totally fine with a FEMALE only character.

I have always thought that more games need female leads.

Control, Gears 4 and 5, Tomb Raider etc all incredible stories and characters

Almost certainly this. The characters are so similar to make modeling and animating them easier.
