Middle Purple Block I'm struggling with (spoilers)
I really struggle with purple blocks and this one seems very hard to me.
I would like a hint and not the actual answer, though.
The block says Never Trusted

In general, purple blocks contain some kind of rhyme or alliteration. They're not always consistent, but the one in question seems to fit that pattern, and might even seem thematically appropriate. In keeping with the poetry, it has the same number of syllables as "never trusted" .

Thank you!

I have tried every word I can think of, but I still can't figure out the answer. What part(s) get replaced?

Only one chunk on the left side is replaced.

Perhaps you're poorly accustomed to think in the lines of someone who is never trusted. It might leave a chip on your shoulder, or it might make you unable to cope with the demands of a normal social environment.

Thank you for the hints. I understand the puzzle now.

I am dumb, but I still can't figure it out even after this thread. Any more hints? ;_; Its pretty much the last puzzle I need to "finish" Level 1.

Here's some hints that may help, increasing order of how direct the hint is.

1) Have you figured out a pattern for the purple block in the middle position? If so, think about what needs to be done to the given word to make a possible solution. This block sticks pretty close to the rule for its type.

2) Paraphrasing from an above hint, the solution is an adjective that could describe someone who is never trusted.

3) From what I've found in my near completion of level 1, the rule for purple blocks in the middle position is that the solution retains a chunk of the given word(s), but the rest is replaced with something else. As said before, the solution has the same amount of syllables as never trusted.

4) The part of never trusted that is retained in the solution is -usted.

Got it, thank you! I did know the rules, but I feel like it was still a bit far-fetched.

Now there is only one word I am missing in that room - "Singed". Been struggling with that one for a while. (Nevermind got it)

Never heard of this word before. Wouldn't have gotten it without these clues. Had to google 11 letter words that end in 'usted'. Every other middle block purple has only ever replaced 1 or 2 letters. This one may as well have been a high block to rule out the ambiguity of what section to replace.
