Playing Loop Odyssey Led to me Playing Loop Hero

I only started playing this because I saw a video from Splattercatgaming and it looked very different from other games I have played, so I gave it a try. Then I read on here that this game is too similar to Loop Hero, so now I'm playing that. So aside from Loop being in the title and the way the main menu is designed, how would anyone confuse these two games? Are the other threads just angry people white knighting for a crusade nobody cares about? They pay completely different in both interesting ways, but I'll admit I enjoy Loop Hero more currently. Loop Odyssey is an idle game and I'm favoring Hero's Roguelite play style.

I did here of Hero before, but never actually looked into the game play until playing this. I just don't get the anti Odyssey Crusade posts. How many impulsive buyers will buy this thinking it has anything to do with Hero if they have played Hero? Even so, if that was the intent people would just refund within 2 hours anyways. So doesn't the crusade defeat it's own purpose?

Anyways, have fun doing what you like people. It's just a game.

I wasn't sure that it was from splattercatgaming, but it was his video that led me to his game too.
Wasn't sure because I can't find the video anymore, I hope it was deleted because of the drama in the comments and not for some obscure reason behind the scene.

Except it didn't. The Art-Style might be similiar (8-bit pixel graphic) but that Art-Style has been used by thousands of games in the past.
The actual graphics/assets themselves look very different from one another.

So no, no copying has been happening here.

Yeah, he removed the video because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the comments and he didn't want to further the "Witchhunt" against this game that was starting to take place there.

That s a relief, I don't remember what he said exactly and it was still pretty nice but I think that retromation was one of those witch hunting comments. I got baited thinking it was the sequel to Loop hero myself but I m not mad at all, I feel it s a good way to draw players that could be interested . I was a bit disapointed to see him telling the dev that he should change it. No matter how goodwilled he was, but I guess he s also a human and we sure do love to have our opinions.

Anyway, a relief yes but that s too bad that there was this dram because the game is really good and desserve to be known.

Nobody is outraged lol. It's just a simple fact and people are having a hard time coping, so excuses are made to help them feel better.

There are many idiots out there saying that the earth is flat, yet we all know that that is not the case.

Neither is the claim that Loop Odyssey "stole" or "copied" the Art of Loop Hero. The Style is similar, but the assets and everything is completely different.
And as said, the Art-Style was used by thousands of games in the past, which is simply a fact.

But facts don't seem to work well with the Outrage-Machine that is going on here, so they're ignored and suddenly we are the once supposedly coping here.

I definitely understand the criticism. When I saw this pop up I assumed it was some kind of sequel, or spin off by the same devs. The art style, and even the font of the logo look very similar. Combine that with the name, and my eye brow is at least half raised. The game play looks different though with just some intersecting concepts. I haven't played this one so I'm not really sure about that.

Of course it's completely possible that all this was just a coincidence. I understand those who don't buy that though.

They're a fringe group, a tiny portion of the population. A vastly greater percentage of people see this game and immediately assume a connection to loop hero, which is by design and a cheap publicity tactic. Just look at the forums, the reviews, etc. Look at the title screen for this game lol
