Yes, that what I meant by mimic what the guitarist is doing. I've been doing this. Either the button movements are too precise, the timing is too precise, or you're meant to do something else. That's why I'm struggling.
It probably shouldn't be starting off with something so long.
I think they're imprecise on both, honestly :/ Controller feels worse in some ways, because it just bounces all over the circle (I'm using a dual-sense PSV controller). And yeah, I think at least for some puzzles it changes. I'm not sure if that means you succeeded in mimicking the first one or it just starts randomizing on failure. It's just very unclear and the controls are a mess :/
What would REALLY help is having the radial up and then pressing something else to sing because you sing the second you press the button, so, unless you stop singing, you're just going to go around the scale instead of specific notes.
I thought it was randomizing on failure, but it wasn't, I was just missing some notes. Simon says puzzles normally start off with something simple, like a 2 or 3 sequence, so that you understand how it works, not throw 7 or 8 notes at you all at once, especially with this interface.
I'd be curious as to how the dev is doing it, maybe they can release a hint video?
I have no clue if I'm getting any of the notes right or not, these puzzles usually tell you when you've made an error (usually by restarting the sequence).
The flute player isn't a puzzle in the same way the guitarists are. The "puzzle" aspects of the flute player are that you have to bring the flute to them so they pick it up, and wait for them to play to activate the poem. And if you stay long enough, you get a Steam achievement. I pointed this out originally because it's the only other vaguely human music interaction similar to the guitarist. Since I wasn't doing the guitarist puzzle, I wondered if there was also some listening element like the flute player that was involved. There doesn't seem to be. I finally managed to complete a guitarist puzzle. You really seem to just have to hit the right notes - somehow - and eventually it should indicate you got it right.
Hi!
Guitar puzzle hint:
This unique puzzle It's related to singing the right notes in the right order. The guitar plays a sequence of notes you should try to sing. Its different to flute puzzle and a little harder depends on the melody.
I've found that on controller, I can return to neutral (control stick in the middle), and the naiad will keep singing her note. I use this to switch between notes that aren't next to each other.
if you get it right, it will bring up the name of the song in the bottom of the screen.
It would be nice if the notes the guitar plays were colour-coded or something so I wasn't relying on my terrible note recognition.
Hi! I'm sorry you are experiencing some frustration with the guitar puzzle. I'm working now on improving that. And I hope to bring a better experience with this in next updates.
Actually, the guitar throw a note (visual feedback) on the direction you must sing. The guitar guy plays in two speeds (normal, and slower) if you wait a little. Most difficult part in this puzzle seems to be related to the 8 directions diagram and gamepad stick sensitivity. Have you tried with keyboard?
I'm doing my best to improve and I really appreciate your feedback. I hope you are able to continue playing and while the update is coming.
Kind regards.
Yes, I noticed it was at easier to hit the notes with the mouse compared to the controller.
