Difference between this and DS4Windows?
Not trying to start anything, but genuinely curious what the difference between DSX and DS4Windows is in terms of functionality?

For instance, DS4W's biggest weakness is that emulating the PS5 controller as a PS4 controller isn't too reliable when it comes to game combability. More often than not, you're forced to emulate it as an xbox controller if you want the game to recognize it. It's a little annoying having xbox button prompts.

Does DSX have this same issue?

Not an issue. It's a fact that most of the games on windows don't have support for ps4/ps5.

As mentioned by @Cosmii02, it is indeed not many games support the DualShock 4 or the DualSense Controller, however for games that do support the DualShock 4 controller can emulate it within DSX with working Touchpad functionality and Gyro/Accel for the emulation.

DSX also provides a much more friendly UI for the average user as well as a lot of adaptive trigger modes, and haptic feedback that isn't supported in DS4W

So what does this provide over steam input then? Some adaptive trigger defaults?

API for making game mods to sync the adaptive triggers to ingame events, like they are on native ps5, ability to use audio haptics when using wired, and shortcuts, etc
