V3 can do what DS4windows do + haptic and adaptive trigger, but they're still working on it, unknown release date
Waiting for the devs then.
This is completely untrue. The dev cares very much and do please remember there are two guys working flat out to bring the next version of the app. at this point it would be crazy bringing many updates and fixes to a old version that in a few months time wont be relevant. He gave people partial edge support. both programmes have there pros and cons. v3 will fix all of the currant issues and add loads of new features.
It takes time to implement things when there's just one (for v2) or 2 (for v3) programmers working to make it happen. There's code being changed and added every day and I'm personally overseeing that v3 be much more performant and qualitative than v2. Which, by the way, currently v3 is pretty stable taking very little cpu and only around 110-130 MB memory even with multiple controllers connected, which is already less than DS4W.
Yes, there are bugs that will be sorted out in v3, and we do say "that wlil be fixed in v3" or "that will be added in v3" because bugs take time to sort out and features take time to implement, and the code for v2 and v3 is not exactly compatible since they're different programs so we can't just implement it in v2 and then copy it over to v3. That's the whole point of the entire rebuild - to improve the codebase and make it more scalable. That's actually good news for you, since future bugs will be much less common and will be taken care of more quickly and we won't have to defer to a "v4"
v3 is also not just an update to v2, it's an entirely new program that will bring many improvements and new features.
If you've taken even a second to see what goes on in the community on Discord, you would know that we very much do care and also try to report frequently on the progress of v3 with previews, so please take your negativity elsewhere.
At the moment I'd say the main point is that DSX lets you use audio haptics and adaptive triggers, and for certain games DSX can provide a native support feeling using mods, like for Forza5, RDR2, GTAV, Cyberpunk,...
Also, starting v3, DSX will be able to do DualSense emulation which ds4w can not. This will for instance allow you to use rumble and native adaptive triggers wirelessly, and also rebind buttons, use macros, shortcuts, turbo keys etc in native games.
