How much longer will this be in Early Access?
Just wondering how much longer (if anyone knows) this will be in early access as that is a deal breaker for me. And I'm hoping it's not a "Who knows" situation and instead is more clear how far along it is and what is needed before it's released

This is your "best" source of information (it's where the Devs Hang Out):
discord.gg/bellwright

* There is no road map
* There is no published end to EA
* It's a "Who knows" situation :steamhappy:

Or, Tuesday. Yeah, it'll be outta EA on Tuesday... :steammocking:

I too am on the edge of buying this game but have been stung by early access too many times. Devs really need a solid timeline that they can stick to and steam needs to offer refunds all the way up until a fair 1.0 release otherwise the people have no guarantees.

Yeah this definitely bothers me then. Not even a road map?

Point 1: :steamhappy: Let us know how that works out for ya...
Point 2: :steammocking: How is that Steam's Problem?

It's kinda Steams "fault" that road maps are disappearing...
The changed their Publisher TOS to punish any Devs for not delivering on "promises".

Rather than have lawyers dissect the TOS, most Devs simply abandoned publishing plans.
Not exactly what Steam intended, but it's how it turned out.

Uh, what part of "There is no road map" confuses you?

The steam pages early access notice says the estimate completion of the game is within 3 years. That was posted when game went into early access April last year.

Best to wait on this one based on past intents from same team. I enjoy the game as is, but if you want a game that is sure to complete this is not the studio to follow. Check back in 6 months is my advice, theres a ton of other great games to try out that communicate better.

Devs are scared to communicate here based on their past failures. Great game though......

Misper is on the steam discussions often. But they are too busy taking feedback and making fixes with the active in real time discord chat.

If you were fixing your game are you gonna comb through toxic posts and people crying about past failures or the audiences actively giving you bugs and issues in the now.
wtf even is your problem? If you dont like EA games and dont wanna try them then stop thinking about it??? I dont even know how anyone can end up that jaded by EA titles, dont jump on every hypetrain like fckng sheep ig... Yall dont seem to stop playing games alltogether only cuz you got some bad full releases either:gorlak:

I really dont get all the bad vibes. Depending on your tastes ofcourse but this game is a really good show of what openworld survival crafting can be. The devs are constantly updating the game, especially after every preview branch update. The fixes, balances and QOL are already apparent and they just keep adding more and more. The game is becoming an awesome product. Its not even a really expensive title by todays standards. I honestly cant fault the game, the devs or the pace at which its just getting better.

EDIT: and to all the 'Dont like EA games' people, you can wait until its full release but in my opinion your just missing out on what it already is

Solid timelines are nearly impossible to stick to during the alpha state of the game. It's almost impossible to determine how long each area of content will take to create and integrate into what is already there. And this is assuming you already know exactly what you want to exist in the game. Every feature, every system, all content, etc.

The purpose of EA is to allow players to help shape the direction of development so that the result is as close to what the players want as possible. That system alone makes deadlines nearly impossible, because you don't even know what all will ultimately need to be done.

This is one of the reasons Steam got so strict on content promises and deadlines for EA games. Too many games were not meeting those deadlines, not including promised content, or not finishing the games at all.

But to more directly answer your question, once a game is in Beta (content complete), it usually stays there for 1 to 3 months to iron out bugs and polish it. This game is nowhere near Beta yet. Expect a minimum of at least another year before it's 1.0.

"Great game" but your comment before was "better wait on this one" LMAO..

You never make any sense at all.. it's like you can't make up your mind.

Also, the devs aren't "scared to communicate here based on their past failures." they just choose not to and they pick where and when they want to communicate and they do that rather effectively. Sorry you are terrified of Discord.

You must literally just have nothing better to do.. these devs live rent free in your head.

That's unfortunate for you. If the game looks interesting you're missing out. Game is very playable in current form.

If you click the Learn More EA link on the store page you will see...

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“With the scale of the game and major plans for upcoming updates, along with your feedback regarding what you want to see in the game, we're estimating to reach full release within the next 3 years.”
