This was constantly eating up RAM on my Ryzen 9 system and causing in-game crashes.
This could be a cause, but since I'm not an IT person myself, I can't tell you 100%.
If I notice myself that I'm experiencing a drop in FPS,
I always go looking for the problem... before my game crashes and possibly nothing works anymore.
edit;
i have write this in a other diskussion over FPS and Performents Problems..,
Hey,
in the past, if you listened to music on YouTube, for example, your RAM would be too heavily affected by the game and wasn't really compatible. However, in my opinion, this has been successfully patched.
What hasn't been patched since early access is when there are clusters of animals or soldiers that keep growing and thus require and consume more and more RAM. This can get to the point where the game becomes unplayable and you have to start over from scratch if you've used all four save slots with such high RAM consumption and don't solve this problem yourself.
Possible errors include:
For example, if you imprison Lord Ashburne and his soldiers with fences and they can't decimate themselves through attacks, his imprisoned following will continue to grow and thus require more and more RAM to calculate movement and display the troops.
Another possibility is that boars or deer get stuck at a watering hole, for example, and can't get out on their own, but new animals keep spawning at the animal spawn point and go the same way to the water and then get stuck there just as quickly. So you only see 1 red dot on the map, and when you look at it you only see 1 boar, for example, but there could be 5-20 boars stacked on top of each other, and it's only when you, for example, If you kill a boar with a bow shot, you'll see that a dead boar lies down, but at least one more boar is still standing in exactly the same spot... then you have to keep killing these boars until they're all on the ground, and you'll have a lot of resources.
If you don't do this because you think it's only one... then these stacked animals will continue to eat the RAM until nothing else works... ;)
I think the same thing can happen with patrols if they get stuck somewhere (usually in the water between rocks). That hasn't happened to me yet because I quickly eat them as easy snacks on the side...
Have fun and a nice day
