New World

any word if i have to restart when animal husbandry happens? ive been in limbo wondering if i should wait or keep playing my current save. i dont really want to progress if im going to restart soon.

Well, considering that the update brings not just animal husbandry, but also new quests and buildings, it might be a good idea to hold out for a bit and then start a new playthrough.

The Next Big Update is happening Soon(tm) - No actual date, but only "Spring 2025"...
This could mean today, or anytime between today and mid-June (assuming no delays).

I too am waiting for the update to start a brand new save (missed a few achievements).
But waiting is hard - I wanna open my presents NOW.

You do not HAVE to start a new game. It is probably a good idea but my friend and I have already restarted our co-op game twice and we are just going to continue playing our save. We are already in the BETA and we have had no issues that haven't been addressed by the devs.

Try Beta Branch its very good and everthing working fine. A lot of new Content.

When animal husbandry update landed on preview branch I also wondered if I should restart my game. Decided to continue playing my save, and haven't encountered any glitch, it just seamlessly incorporated into my save.

that's amazing news. i've been putting the game on the back burner because of this.

It will more or less depend on where you have built on the map some of the areas have changed a little bit. i would say to load your old game first and if you don't see any problems you might be ok

I've lost count of how many times I've wiped and started over. It's not that long once you get a handle on how everything functions. Hell I'm on a 3rd full playthrough just on the current previewbranch

in a lot of games id agree, but it jjst doesn't have any real free form building and will see some new quests here and there but I'll admit i don't see my self going multiple plays deep. maybe one or 2 depending on updates.

if i could actually build i personally would stay longer but that's a me thing.
