Hardwood trees only give logs when cut

Title says it all. Issue started today 25/12, not happened before but every hardwood tree I cut becomes a regular log. Please help.

mine working fine, are you sure your cutting hardwood they are the short trees with the more autumn colored leaves. might have to do a bug report.

This happened out of nowhere without any hardware or software changes.
My villagers can't farm them either. Forester planting hardwood trees that look like hardwood trees but when I interact with it it says "Tree" and the loot after cutting is "Logs".

How do I get to my 'Saved' folder?
1) Open 'Run' through the Windows Start Menu and paste the above link

Zipping the folder
1) Right click on the folder named 'Saved'
2) Select 'Send To' -> 'Compressed (zipped) folder'
This will generate a zip file you can then upload
Uploading the zip file
1) Drag and drop your zip file into Discord
OR
2) Use Discord's 'Upload a File' to upload the zip file

Conduct an experiment. Take a simple axe and a rough axe, go to a tree that you consider to be of hardwood and take a simple axe in your hands. If the function to chop down a tree is active, then it means that it is a simple tree, and if it gives a message that you need a "better tool", then it is a hardwood tree. At first, I also sometimes mistook a simple tree for a hardwood tree.

Does this only happen with forestry trees? What about hardwood trees that existed at game start?
