This review has me worried
So i read a review that says after sometime your AI breaks entirely..heres the review:

Wow, I never thought I'd write a review where I can't recommend a game. There have been games I didn't enjoy, but I usually don't leave a review. This one, however, is different—and it breaks my heart. For 25 hours, this was my favorite game. I played it every day and was genuinely excited to dive in.

Then, everything changed. I hit a wall that completely broke the game for me. I had built an amazing settlement with 9 villagers, and everything was running smoothly. I was managing tasks, creating new structures, and enjoying the process—until, out of nowhere, my villagers stopped working. Not a single one would do their job. They just wandered around, completely idle. Despite having tools at each station, ample storage, and clear priorities set for each task, nothing changed. I even created tasks at each station, but still, no one would work.

Frustrated, I turned to online forums, only to find that this is a common issue—one that nobody seems to have a clear solution for. After trying everything I could think of, I eventually had to give up. It’s heartbreaking, because I really wanted to continue playing, but this game-breaking issue left me completely stuck.

It's a game that's designed to build a settlement and manage a growing community, but without the villagers working, it's just not possible. I'm at a loss and, for now, I can't recommend this game due to this major flaw. If I could figure out how to fix it, I'd be thrilled, but until then, my hands are tied. I'm so disappointed.

is this true for anyone else?

You do know that it's a early access game, to review it as if it's a full release is not really fair, yes there are mechanic that are still incomplete, buggy, unpolished it's to be expected so, that review suck as it's does not take those factors into consideration, does not mean what it points out ain't true but to say " I can't recommend this game" based on flaw that are to be expected in a game in development is low... it's a bit like me getting access to a car prototype and complaining that it's road handling is really not top notch for a consumer car...it's a freaking prototype.

ps: where is that review from?.. (found it, it's a user review) people should really learn what's a early access game and stop complaining about flaws in a incomplete game.

We had over 80+ villagers in one of our saves and they all kept truck along. Sometimes ran into a wall here and thee and got stuck, but... for most parts chugging along as they should.

I can also say that I have made it to T3 2x and have had around.. 40+ villagers across all my villages/outposts and did not have an issue in either my solo or my multiplayer/co-op game.

Yeah that review is just user error across the board. At 9 villagers, he's still very early in the game and just doesn't understand which part of the supply chain he hasn't noticed.

i would say yes, i've had many time a npc stuck in between two station that i have to switch to companion and drag out of it's mess to make it operate properly, but as i say to everyone those bug and annoyance are to be expected at this stage of development

I've been playing for 3 months. Have 25 villagers. Haven't had this problem yet.

most people I hear with these sort of complaints. over specialize or run out of food. there is really no reason to overspecialize. I have almost 500 hours and have never had a problem.
most problems are user error. either your people don't have the skill to do the task proper tool and the ability to use said tool.
my advice is to go back and reset all structures to priority 5 go and reset your villagers to the same the only exception would be to Turn off research for everyone but your best researcher or two.
set up a food barn it takes all food, garlic and sage.
put a water source nearby
4 cook pots a smoker
and 1 camp fire
that can feed 25+ villagers no problems
in a second barn place smoked meat, fine stew, and fish stew in the first 3 spots meat stew etc after that. that should keep everyone fat and happy. if you keep your best armors and weapons here it's a 1 click set up when calling your troops to arms.

again ...I have heard that to many things set to no. 1 priority can cause major problems. and it's completely unnecessary. sorry but yes I really have to keep saying it.

sounds like someone forgot to feed their villagers.. i have like 400 hours I think and havent had this issue..

issue is this dev team quit on their last game like this cause they ran out of money. so what they do make a new game make that make sense. meanwhile the other game is abandoned

If you mean Last Oasis, its not given up on, but on the backburner. It's limited how much resources you can spend on something that doesn't pay the bills. Do you like work for free? Don't you need your bills paid, roof over your head and food on the table?

The game doesn't have a good system for assigning work. As you build, they take longer to do the task, as you progress, the travel between places gets longer. There is probably too much going on for the 9 villagers to handle as I am in tier 3 with 4 riverboat travel points going, a few t3 buildings going, and my guys won't research. Why? They are busy walking to the southern most point of the map to build me a dock :) My take, is just lacking people to do everything needed and they want something done now. P.S. 9 villagers ain't nothing and seems they only hit the first tier. Way too soon to review bomb this game.
