River Dock
It seems that I can only bring 7 companions with me in the boat. I really need to bring more than that. Unless I'm just not understanding how it works. I had 10 people with me and only 7 got to Crasmere. Any tips?

You have to let them get close enough to you. When you hover over the destination dock, it gives you a count of how many are currently in range
