Keeps Crashing

First let me say I LOVE THIS GAME...however, I can't play for more than 5-10 minutes before either it CTD, or, it locks up completely and I have to restart my computer...what is going on...and yes, I have a 4090...is that possibly the cause???

Validate files? It crashes occasionally for me as well but not that frequently. In general, but particularly when I fast travel and it needs to render a bunch of buildings/npcs. Though this game is just good enough for me to not even care about the crashing.

Got the same. After the last update. Reinstalled, same again. Started a new game. Was able to walk to the Elder, crashed. Walked outside the village perimeter, collect some things, crash. Not able to build the shed. Always crashing before.
Old game crashing as well.

I had multiple daily crashes before, then I updated all my GPU drivers and zero crashes after that.

that has been happening to me also. during fast travel. or when running. more just freezes up

Crashing every 30 mins or so. I have validated game files, updated NVidia drivers and even checked the integrity of my windows system files. The game has always been a little bit crashy but has really picked up the pace since the last update.

I have had random crashes as well, while playing with a friend (him hosting) and at one point, I was brewing tea and not even touching the kb or mouse... it just up and crashed for no apparent reason. He was building things and was fine the entire time. I had 2 more crashes rapidfire, then hours of uninterrupted play. No reasonable cause that I can tell, but I like the game so much, I choose to keep playing. :P

Are you running mods?
I am using mods from Nexus (over 12 of them), but I've had to get rid of a couple that weren't updated and were causing game issues (crashes, not starting, etc).

I don't know why this works but most of the crashing issues i get nowadays i can usually fix by restricting frame rate cap to 60. I wasn't crashing quite that often but a few times here and there and after i changed this setting no more issues for me. Hope it helps.

Relocating a forester building is crashing me.

In my case, the app would suddenly crash and close instead of freezing. Since the recent Bellwright update.
It happened repeatedly, sometimes when I had two cauldrons on the screen at the same time, or when I saw a certain mountain view.
It even started to go down when I looked at my bed at home. It crashes every time I look at my bed.Ewww I can't even sleep in my own home...poor me...
But after updating to the latest update 2024-12-5 of the NVIDIA GeForce driver, the crashes stopped.
I can sleep in my own home.

Don't know if this will work for anyone else but I was getting crashes every half hour or so and I pretty much fixed it by turning on vsynch and turning off Nvidia Reflex in the game settings. Since I did that I've had 1 crash in about 20 hrs of play.
