Staging Ground useless? Gear sets useless? Army useless?

I have gear sets for worker/guard/companion all set up, weapons, armor, and items. Whenever I rally troops, they only show up with whatever i had manually and individually given them. They do not replace broken things, replenish ammo or even wear what I have them set to wear.

When I set the amount of food in the Army to 9, they don't even fill up before leaving and do not carry extra food. I have the durability setting to 50% also and they do not go and exchange broken or empty slots when I rally them.

When I manually equip, rearm and feed every single solder individually and I do go out, it works fine but when I am working or doing anything, they are constantly getting knocked out by wolves even when they're fully equipped and told to hold their ground (I have tried this toggled off as well) they do not fight and run away until they're knocked out. Even my most geared and well equipped soldier will die to wolves while mining even when I have their work/combat sets identical.

Please help, this game is great but once I started dealing with large groups, the system in place for management seems non-functional.

So by any chance, do you issue your army an order with E, then move the pointer over the staging ground and select "stock up"... Then your guys will go rearm, pick up food, equip better armor if possible etc.

Thank you, I was not clicking on stock up as I didn't know it existed.

Any help on my soldiers getting owned by random wolves?

Better skilled and armed/armored soldiers?

Make sure your villagers have good food to buff their health and stamina as well. Berries and shrooms doesn't really bring you that far.
