First Villager won't work

I've been trying for about an hour to get that first villager to craft the traps as instructed in the tutorial but no matter what I do he just stands around at the same spot no matter what I do. I've changed priorities, he does have the necessary crafting skill, I placed the required materials in the workbench (and there's also additional resources in a chest nearby but he won't touch those either) and I put the task in the manage tab for NPCs and not the craft tab for myself, so everything should be set up correctly from what I've read online. Is there anything else I need to do or is the game just that broken?

You made him a worker, so he still not in companion (follower) mode?

I did. Also tried reloading and setting him to companion and back to worker again as well as restarting the game.

He have food? A house to sleep in?

And he researched the traps I guess.

He does have food and does have a house to sleep in. He did research the traps, yes, but he also doesn't do any other research now. He also doesn't go to get food himself anymore. He always just walks back to that same spot and stands there. I even moved my entire village to a different place in case he was just stuck on the terrain or something but it didn't help either.

Could try just create a new outpost some place, then assign him there, then assign him back to your main village. Idk, running out of ideas -)

Maybe it is the same thing i got confused about at first.
Crafting stations have two queques, One for manual crafting for the player and the second one for villager crafting.

As stated before, I already did try to sleep and I am aware of the two different queues in the crafting station. I am using the correct one.

He might be trying to do something or have a big ole log in his inventory
