I gear up all my reservists and disable all their priorities so they just idle around. They have no jobs other than being soldiers, if I call them up, they're armed and ready.
Food: Piick highest tier food available and 3 of a kind. Every extra food not repeated if possible. Down the line save a party and setup, but for now that.
Weapons and shield: Pick the highest tier available
Armor: This is the hardest but lets start with pick highest tier armor available if an armor slot is available. Down the line would be great to have a working set and a fighting set, but lets start with something easier.
Archers: fill arrows and a party option to tell how many extra sets of arrows to bring.
Call to arms: Guards eat to fill the 3 slots and keep sometinhg extra in inventory, equip weapons (not tools) and non-reservists stop working and hide in their houses.
Edit: well, turns out it doesn’t work. When you exit the army screen, the “button” reverts to the “?” sign.
