Villagers and Gear
Hi , can we get a update on the current bugs that involve your villagers from keeping there gear equipped? Its getting old when getting raided and then after said raid, having to re-gear most of your villagers? is there any sort of way to have like pre-set gear options or something???

This is really turning the game off of a lot of players. So any info or any way to fix this would be awesome thanks....

Equipment is the most painful thing in the game, residents always discard it, and when it comes to battle, they go into battle with carpenter's hammers, pitchforks, etc. Archers go forever without arrows, it just blows your mind.

maybe implement some armory sort of stuff to manage villagers prefer weapon and armor (ex: preset 1 bow and axe, set repair threshold x% ,preset2 two handed axe ) those equipment shouldn't be able to be remove after using hunting camp or logging camp. they should take axe from tool shelf and always equip at tool slot.

Yeah. Some of my archers always revert back to sword and shield, even though their archery stat is higher than one-handed. Same for hunters. Really annoying.

I try to avoid this issue by keeping a standing army. Very expensive but reliable.

I gear up all my reservists and disable all their priorities so they just idle around. They have no jobs other than being soldiers, if I call them up, they're armed and ready.

I hope they implement some kind of logic for the stagging ground at least:

Food: Piick highest tier food available and 3 of a kind. Every extra food not repeated if possible. Down the line save a party and setup, but for now that.
Weapons and shield: Pick the highest tier available
Armor: This is the hardest but lets start with pick highest tier armor available if an armor slot is available. Down the line would be great to have a working set and a fighting set, but lets start with something easier.
Archers: fill arrows and a party option to tell how many extra sets of arrows to bring.

Call to arms: Guards eat to fill the 3 slots and keep sometinhg extra in inventory, equip weapons (not tools) and non-reservists stop working and hide in their houses.

my staging ground stuff worked just fine before they put the arrow holders and having them grab bags in the game.... some of the people i bring with me will not grab things they are suppose to or they just stand in front of the food or weapon storage doing nothing, i end up having to give some of them food myself it is getting a bit annoying

after you click on all of your squad members go into the army screen and click on where the portrays and names are you can customize what your people focus on idk if you knew this

Not sure if everyone realizes but when you click the rallying flag sometimes they are not just standing by, they are waiting their turn. At first I was thinking same as you all but then noticed they will all go get their stuff. Now to help you guys with them grabbing tools vs correct weapons. What we have done is near our flag we have the food cellar, arrow baskets now and a barn. In the food cellar we only keep the tier 3 cooked foods in there nothing else. In the barn we only keep gear, zero tools are stored there, no hammers, no hoes, no shovels. Since doing this has made a huge difference gearing them out. We also double the same weapon in their hands. Like we would be 2 morning stars as their weapons. We found doing this they will use one until it breaks then store it and then use the alternate which is great in battle when one breaks.

Wow, thank you! I never realized/noticed there was a “button” for this. You are a saver.

Edit: well, turns out it doesn’t work. When you exit the army screen, the “button” reverts to the “?” sign.
