potions and the red berry fruits

How does one get these

Im about 280 days in game still not liberated any villages , just playing it safe near the first village Hardhean , and got level 2 buildings , been bradford , padstow and Blackridgepool (was this meant to be my norfern UK town Blackpool , lol)
Anyway
Ive seen some youtubers using potions and picking red berries , is this a quest later on ?

1) get a Healer Apprentice to unlock healing potions (or pick them up after beating Bandits and Brigands groups ) .... 2) the redberries are Cranberries which you can find in the swamp areas north of Blackridgepool.

Healing potions return 50 HP a shot ... the Cranberries help increase your learning skills (either by action or reading skill books)
