Bug with NVIDIA Gen 8 (Geforce RTX 4070) - Freezing laptop

Since 4 or 5 hours playing, after maximum 30 minutes, the game and the laptop are freezing and do need a restart. Only on this game. More than 20 hours there weren`t any problems of this. Today the game killed me with six times freezing and need to use always the powerbutton. Does anyone else has this problems? I`ve read the issues with gen 13&14, but when I do remember right, the rtx4070 is gen 8.

I have a desktop 4070 and it's been fine. No freezes in tens of hours of play. If being on the current drivers doesn't help, it's probably a hardware issue... cooling ?

Like stated above its probably because you are playing on a gaming laptop. They do run hot and can have all sorts of issues and throttle which can cause freezing, stutters, performance loss, etc. Sounds like you may be overheating so maybe run some tests with software to monitor the temps.

Also a rtx 4070 mobile version only has 8gb vram and is almost the same exact relative performance as an RTX 3060 DESKTOP version. The mobile versions are always slower than the desktop versions of video cards, due to the laptops small form factor, heat, power draw and 99% of mobile gpu' versions gimp the power limits compared to the desktop versions too.

As for the 13th and 14th gen issues that is totally different and that is for the Intel Processors (cpu's) mainly on Desktops that were having issues, crashing and auto overclocks from the factory on the motherboards.
