Mods. The loot from game and now I get roughly 14 feathers per kill. I've added about a dozen mods and now Im having more fun than ever.
Food buff lasts 24 hours, food does not spoil, higher knowledge from books, and some more. Even with all of these buffs the reclamation parties are insane.
the same applies to cows,
you need the hunter because he gets so many feathers that your camps will burst or you have to do it yourself and practice more..
It's normal to shoot birds on every mountain, there are usually copper or tin mines there, I read somewhere that there is supposed to be a nest somewhere in the last village on the bottom right where there are lots of them to shoot, but I didn't look because I have enough feathers
There are also a few roaming outside of Farnworth (I've seen them east of Town) and Crasmere (just outside the south gate). Lastly, just south of Blackridgepool, near the lady they kicked out.
Outside of the above listed areas, I wish you luck because Chickens seem rare in Bellwright.
The fact that these poultry and the milk factories are running around everywhere after a few days since the start of the game is because our villagers have only built open, half-finished fence gates there and there are no BSE factory farming barns there without a run... that's why these animals straight out of the dust to entice us unsuspecting players to commit a chicken murder for feathers, or that we apparently slaughter free-living cows to avoid near starvation, only to be punished for this outrage .., the devil is in every animal..,^^
edit;
but I think
that you should reach T2 as quickly as possible in order to get better weapons and then get enough feathers from the hunter, because you will then need these feathers in large quantities to make clothes..,
