I can't build with the hammer

I can see the white building nodes and my character does the hammering animation but nothing actually gets built. The villagers seem to be able to build fine but for whatever reason it's not letting me build.

Click once, let the animation play out. Rinse and repeat, its a very, VERY slow process. It's far from the rapid build of t1 stuff.

Let your troops do the construction. They are like 5x faster than you.

It's not like the other smaller builds where you click and it pops into place.. YOu have to painstakingly drive each nail and peg... that or let your settlers build it like the rest of us do. Welcome to virtual carpentry hell if you choose to continue. You're in for a treat!

Yeah got complete it more laborer skill they got the more nodes they do per animation. So very quickly they build 5x or more faster than you...

it is a 6-8 second animation for building, and it ends later than you think; you stop hammering, then see your shoulders shift and THEN you can do the next node. Your NPCs will do multiple points at the same time (2-3 at once) vs. you doing 1 at a time. And there are a LOT of points to do!

I like that level of realism. Other build game sare almost instant like Valheim ..looking forward to getting to build higher level stuff.

I get irritated at that.. It forces you to rest a second before you can hammer again. I'm constantly hitting the button too early, and making it last another second as I wait in vain for the animation to start again.
This is why I rarely build anymore. I now have 30 plebes under my thumb and bootheel.. They do fine building on their own.. Mostly.
