Iron hammer for construction?

It says smithing, but will the iron hammer let them build buildings, or just the carpenters hammer?

No, this is for forge Toolmaker/smithy/Armorer

You need Iron Hammer for the T3 stations; Carpenter Hammer is for buildings only

it is tier 2, off the toolmaker.

I have the Tier 2 ToolMaker building, and already doing Tier 3 crafting... but I cannot find where / how to craft the damn "iron hammer" (aka blacksmith hammer). It's driving me nuts, looked everywhere.

EDIT UPDATE: just finished researching the Sledge Hammer, and now Smithing Hammer (iron hammer) is an option to research. FFS, smh.

Do you need blacksmith apprentice for anything? I found one in the 1st village but stats are pretty bad.

Yes you sure do.. you need it to research almost all weapons and maybe some other stuff.

There are usually 2 apprentices per village of each type they have.

If there isn't a second one then you can recruit the first one.. wait 3..4..5 days and then go back to the village and another one should have spawned and you can see if they possibly have better stats.,
