Tier 3 Pit
I'm trying to work out before I start building (As its expensive) if I can build a "Pit" anywhere and get ore etc from it

Or do I have to build it near a Ore mine

Near, personnaly i build outpost with one small house for 2, storage and mining close of iron and set 15 food delivery each day to them. Tier 3 is only required for granit.

Theres any sens to make those outposts? cuz i run solo for peat, iron, granite etc with signs, for example how im supposed to build T2 mining house in nowhere, my npcs gonna propably die and gonna walk like for 2 days to bring resources here, so i can move those resources by myself with signs but after that i need to build that or move hammers here too, thats possible but a lot of work on solo. How those deliveries works ? Like trading, insta spawn or they gonna bring it to main town so they again gonna die from bandits etc?

There is a recent post that explains the whole delivery system from and to outposts. Its automatic at midnight every day. So no walking villagers. Look it up. It was well worth the read trust me.

I made an outpost near the iron with a farm and a stockpile. They don't wander off unless bandits & brigands are close

The way to make higher tier outposts is to set up a stockpile first, then put down some housing tents. Don't do this right by where you want to build. Then, lay out whichever T2/3 you want to put there that you can. Build the stockpile and housing tents yourself, then start teleporting the materials yourself. Don't forget at least one hammer per villager. Once you have all/most of the materials in the stockpile, you can assign villagers to the outpost. They will take a while to walk there, but eventually they will arrive and start building. Do this in advance of needing the materials and you won't even care how long it takes them to set it up.

Yea I setup a hardwood and iron outpost and now I can't get rid of either fast enough so its very effective as for the pit itself haven't built one but might just to see anyway also considering adding a smelter or two at the iron to hopefully keep up with the steel and tinplate demand for better stuff

The only issue I have currently is having to double check when there items are broken as I have yet to figure out how to send broken items back to the main village for repairs

also if anyone has built a bakery or considering its probably worth it for the bread but everything else is expensive (I hope they add Orchards for apples and other stuff)

Yes setting up outposts is good to do. I have 1 at iron and 1 at copper near bredford.
Delivery of food to and ore back to my main village works fine as anticipated.

The Buildings only work near those ore nodes. I MAX build Tier 2 building for it. Cause i have 2 tents, 4 villagers. 1 looking for food. 3 mining. You only need to transfer stone and ore back to main village. Except when theres no food near, then you only need 3 and T2 miners building.
No need for the big building. Too expensive and ore nodes are exhaustable. At somepoint the building is standing in the open next to nothing. So no use so far for it.

T3 building should make it so the ore node becomes infinite, simulating a deep mine.

I thought they were, we've had an outpost mining the same copper rock since the beginning of the game. They just stop giving the ore after a while and eventually replenish?

There seems to be conflicting information about this. Some people have said that the rocks disappear after a while.

Nodes do disappear when mined enough. The Pit has a larger radius I believe so workers will go farther to get minerals if the closer nodes disappear.

I thought the pit would just pull ore out of the ground.... ya know... like a pit. But no, they just walk around and look for ore nearby.
Don't call it a pit, it if ain't a pit.
